Lindsey Matheis is from North Carolina. She has danced for Northwest Dance Project, BODYTRAFFIC, Opera Omaha, Opera Philadelphia, Washington National Opera, and Sleep No More, among other companies. She has worked with choreographers such as Danielle Agami, Sidra Bell, Anton Lachky, Barak Marshall, Andrea Miller, Alan Lucien Øyen, Jiří Pokorný, Arthur Pita, Crystal Pite, Benoit-Swan Pouffer, Ihsan Rustem, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Hofesh Shechter, Richard Siegal, Didy Veldman, Tom Weinberger, among others. She is a co-producer for OddKnock Productions and guest repetiteur for Sacramento Ballet. Her choreography has been commissioned and presented by SALT Contemporary Dance, Missouri Contemporary Ballet, Chop Shop, OddKnock Productions Men in Dance, and the Experimental Film Festival. In addition, she produced three independent dance festivals in Portland, Oregon, with the mission of giving a platform to young dancemakers. She is currently exploring meditation and the gut-brain axis as it pertains to trauma healing, and is invested in facilitating studio environments that cultivate safety, sustainable equity, and unhindered creativity.
