Mamiko Usuda was born and raised in Ibaraki, Japan, and received her B.F.A. with a Major in Dance, from Point Park University. Under the direction of Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich, Mamiko worked with Metamorphosis Dance, during the summer of 2015 and 2016 in Mexico, Spain and Italy. After graduation, Mamiko trained at Nuova Officina della Danza in Italy; under Emanuel Gat, Sita Ostheimer and Spenser Theberge. In 2021, she performed at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic opening ceremony, choreographed by Kaiji Moriyama. Throughout her career, she’s also worked with Jiri Pokorny, Kenta Kojiri, Staycee Pearl, Hiroaki Umeda, Karl Alfred Schreiner, and Paul Julius. Mamiko continues to share her artistry as a freelance contemporary dancer and choreographer, both nationally and internationally.
